All data publishers evaluated in this study deliver streaming Ethereum data, with the goal of the study being to discover how Syntropy stacks up against centralized providers.
In this Ethereum Latency Test, Syntropy's performance in delivering Ethereum mempool and standard transaction data was objectively compared with industry standards Alchemy, Blocknative, and Quicknode. The mempool, or memory pool, is a list of pending transactions awaiting validation from a node before being committed to a block.
Ethereum remains the most widely used ecosystem for decentralized apps (dApps), making fast, reliable data delivery crucial for further innovation. Therefore, the efficacy of Syntropy's platform in delivering Ethereum data has significant implications for the evolution of dApp development on Ethereum and Web3 in general.
Ethereum Latency Testing Methodology
This evaluation of Syntropy's Ethereum latency performance consisted of four measurements spread across different days, each lasting 20 minutes for every provider. Hence, a total of 80 minutes of testing was done per provider.
The measurements were conducted on the mornings of June 2nd and June 20th, the afternoon of June 16th, and the evening of June 19th, 2023. In these sessions, there were 3447, 3179, and 2879 data points gathered respectively for Alchemy, Blocknative, and Quicknode.
The difference in data entries across providers is attributable to various factors, such as geolocation, network latency, technical node properties, and the speed at which some nodes confirm transactions. It's worth noting that each data entry in this test represents an individual Ethereum transaction.

Various visual data representations were utilized to enhance comprehension. The represented figures denote the relative latency times (Δ = ProviderLatency - SyntropyLatency), instead of the absolute delivery speed. Higher values indicate superior Syntropy performance.

Mempool latency data reveals that Syntropy had the lowest latency, trailed by Blocknative, Alchemy, and QuickNode. As standard Ethereum transactions scale up, the latency differential between Syntropy and other providers increases, indicating Syntropy's capacity to handle higher data loads without compromising speed.
The transaction delta, which represents the difference between Syntropy's latency and the median latency of other providers, is approximately 500 milliseconds - a notable lead favoring Syntropy in data delivery speed. These findings highlight Syntropy’s ability to process high volumes of Ethereum transactions.
